Lots of people really like the Taco Shop, and I would have to agree that it is pretty good. However I wouldn't consider it "the real deal". If you want authenticity, then go to Taqueria Mi Tierra or even Tacos El Rey. They even have a few mobile taco trucks strategically placed throughout Moses Lake. Now THAT is the real deal!

Yes, if you're a politician you must at least talk to the news media whenever they demand, or they'll hate your guts and make it a major news story. So what else is new?

Personally I think that the image of weed is unsophisticated and trashy solely from prohibition, oh, and religion too. If never illegal, the smoking of weed would likely be the least sophisticated method of using cannabis. Not unlike how smoking has become. There would be a mature food industry, grow your own medicine graduates, and a shitload more good to the economy than oil can create. I chose circumcision at age 5 becuase I liked the interesting look of the exposed glans. My foreskin was retractable and I did all play with it like ballooning. I felt it was just a piece of skin (the erogenous receptors were not matured). I was happy with the look until puberty when keratinization (callousing) caught up to my penis. Over a couple of years I felt a loss of sensitivity that my friends did not. This is because they had their foreskin torn away from their glans resulting in scarring that overrides keratinization sensitivity loss. Many many years later I would question myself if I even really felt such loss. It became a mind f--k until the internet age. During puberty is when I read the "Joy of Sex" and found to my dismay the many acts of foreplay I will never be able to do. Docking being the biggest. Because of keratinization, loss of erogenous receptors, mechanics (Doartos muscle and gliding "Frenular Delta"), loss of foreplay, I've come 180 degrees to hating circumcision, knowing it is the biggest mistake of my life.

I chose to get circumcised when I was 25 yrs. old. I also did it for purely aesthetic reasons. It is the best thing I could have done for myself and I am very happy that I did it.

I agree about not being tough enough on wall street and mortgage lenders in general but the Sweden comment, bites. Those Swedes are not that happy I was reading a speech given by Swedish prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, given in February '08 I believe. He claim the far left ruined in less than 25 yrs what took Sweden 100 yrs to build. they had less than 10 million citizens at the time, high unemployment and THEY (the government) had to convince (THEM) the citizens that "work was good". What most of the over 300 million in the U.S.A. already know without the government (THEY) telling us (the people). This socialistic mind set is what most of us, common hard working types, do not want to grow any larger than it already has. It isn't the current generation that suffers from this it's the next ones that follow knowing only this mindset. He went on to say that the employers too must be encouraged to hire the dead beats (my term not his) they will not have to pay social security tax on that individual i.e. dead beat chose not to work for 3 years, employer saves on employer taxes for 3 years...sweet... I do not think this is going to work in the long run and in fact if Sweden had a population like the U.S. or Canada I believe they would have been worse off by now than Greece is currently. The U.S. has it's problems like every country but that kind of system would crash this country very quickly. We have more illegal aliens than Sweden has citizens and yet we have managed to sustain them and the rest, albeit like I said not without problems, we should learn from the wall-street debacle or we are doomed to repeat it at the very least, thanks for your article and Peace :)

Although you're the first person to leave a comment on this post, I know that you're not alone in your experience because this blog post is the most read post on my site, consistently, every week.

Date rape, mate rape, whatever you want to call it is something that people want to talk about but I suspect that many are afraid to.

Thank you for your courage and for opening a door to hopefully, further discussion on here with others. I sincerely hope that you find peace and a solution to your situation.

Wow, thank you for saying this. I came across this 'date rape' scene by accident several months ago and it really hurt my heart. I've been married for more than 26 years and have been 'mate raped' countless times (a term from your follow-up blog). I just didn't know at the time to call it by its name: rape. And I didn't know to identify this behavior as stemming from my husband's basic insecurity! Like the character Joan, perhaps, I tried to characterize the groping and unwanted sex as something positive, just to make what he had done to me tolerable.

Recently, my husband and I went to a meeting together and later I went to a follow-up meeting with the same person alone. The conversation turned to my unhappy marriage and the person I was meeting with threw up his hands and said he was so glad to be able to say what he had seen when the two of us were together, now that he knew how troubled our relationship was. "The energy coming from the two of you is completely opposite," he said. And he defined the negative energy coming from my husband as 'weak' and 'insecure'. I have always seen him as someone formidable and intimidating, a bully, so it amazed me that others saw through this bluster to perceive his inferiority. And now you say more or less the same thing.

People used to ask him all the time what someone like me was doing with a man like him...and sometimes they'd say this to me in front of him. I always assumed these people were just flattering me or teasing him, but if my husband is, at heart, an insecure man, then these comments must have been galling to his ego.

Now, instead of groping and unwanted sex, he's gone the other way, completely cutting off any affection at all. It's a big relief not to feel pressured, but his rejecting behavior seems deliberately insulting, too. In its own way, the neglect is just as harmful as the abuse. So...these days, I'm beginning to ask myself the old question: what is someone like me doing with a man like him? I may not be a drop dead knock-out (anymore) but somewhere inside, I'm still that person. And she deserves better than this.

I think the Canadian Government may have been a little earlier in considering the possibility of men being victims of sexual assault or harassment. A 2003 report from StatsCan seems to indicate that domestic abuse is not so gender specific, in that one might expect men to be the aggressor when the study indicates the opposite.

For a good documentary, check out The Cove. Gets to the heart of a dolphin slaughter issue in Japan. I thought Moore did a good job on this one - not as daring as the early films, true, and maybe not as deep or involving. But a story worth telling.
